Merge In Tnst NL Til - Makes Apple Fanatics Shiver
Currently I haven’t found to many references to this cryptic abreviation, just an idea:
I have ordered a new MacBook built-to-order. That means it is built to my specs in Shanghai, probably at the FoxConn plant. Now, for a few days, the ’shipment status tracker’ shows ‘Merge In Tnst NL Til’, which probably means they are waiting for the box to arrive in The Netherlands, to merge it with additional equipment there - before sending it out to theire european customers via UPS.
Previous orders have been shipped through their hub at Tilburg as well. I wonder if they start showing the shipment form China with Kuehne&Nagel as they did before?
Any more insights?
Update 10/23: I ordered it Oct 16, 2008, just now (Oct 23, 2008) status changed to “Versandbereit”, which equals “Prepared for Shipment”.
Update 10/23: Roughly 16 hours later I got an email stating that the order has been sent out. Currently I don’t have details concerning the shipment, but I will update here.
Update 24/10: This morning I got a partial “Shipped on: Oct 24, 2008 via Walsh Western B.V.”, whereas my MacBook seems to take longer to ship. At least I will have a spare power-adapter to play with :-)
apecode.com seems to be dead, any alternatives?
Update 25/10: This is what I get on the shipment details pages: “In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly.” This seems to be permanent - too sad, that there is no tracking any more. My MacBook still has not ‘tracking’-info to it, strange.
Update 10/29: Hey ho: “In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly.” But, still no tracking nowhere, not UPS nor TNT. I wonder what shortly means?
Update 10/31: Another change: “Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date”. The “Assigned Carrier” is now a non-descript “NL DISTRIBUTION CENTER”. Brilliant.
Update 3/11: Today the two separate delivery dates have been merged. Finally a meaningful tracking-number has been issued. Under “Carrier Tracking Number” in the details of your order you may find a number starting with “1Z” - this is UPS. By now the assigned carrier states UPS as well.
Update 5/11: This is supposed to be the final update. This is the current result for my Apple packages, forwarded by UPS:

BTW: You got to try this “Delivery status”-widget - it saves me from wasting a lot of time accessing the Apple store and polling the state of delivery. Cool stuff!
Ordered a new Macbook Pro + iPod, too. Currently I can see the same “shipment method” as well: “Merge In Tnst NL Til”. According to your post it might be, because iPod / Macbook are merged to one shipment in NL. Status for my order changed to “ready to be shipped”, today.
Lucky you! Just visited a local Apple reseller today to pet the new MacBook - still - let me check - still ‘Merge In Tnst NL Til’ here.
Wow, you are lucky! I have the same:
Merge In Tnst NL Til
But I’ve ordered the MB (also BTO) on Oct 15 (day before you) and still don’t have the “ready to ship”. Strange, I thought that they have some order and priority :). Luckily I live in NL close to Tilburg so probably the shipment will be faster.
I got “Merge In Tnst NL” too. Shipping to Sweden.
Ordered oct 14. Supposed to get it oct 31 =/
Bill, so actually you have “Merge In Tnst NL” along the “Ready to be shipped” notice?
Hi I ordered a MBP (bto) on Oct 15, 2008.
The page shows “Merge In Tnst NL” as well.
Shipped on: Oct 21, 2008 via Walsh Western B.V.
Delivery Date: 31 Oct 2008
Tracking idoesn`t work, I tried it via Walsh Western webpage but I don`t know how to insert the correct informations …. i tried a couple of combinations - no login possible :-(
A shame that Apple can`t support the correct tracking informations on the website like other vendors (i.e. DELL) !
Same for me. Mine shows “Shipped on: Oct 23, 2008 via Walsh Western B.V. “. I’ve call the Store and told me that it’s been shipped from Shangai to NL to meet an iPod. Once in NL, they’ll give both of them to another carrier and then we’ll be able to have a decent tracking. Until then, just sit and wait. It makes no sense. I want full tracking from the origin!
Wolfgang,
I have the same status on my MBP, except that I can’t see that it’s shipped via Walsh..
I live in Sweden, so it might have something to do with that..
Looking back, I shouldn’t have ordered that sleeve along with the MBP.. =/
Might have sped things up..
Can’t believe it’s gonna take up to 3 weeks to get it..
3 weeks is nothing in the big picture, but it takes away from that spotless image I have of apple :)
Hi Wolfgang,
It depends whether you check your status on your native site or the American site. If you log into the american site, then your order will propably shown Shipped via Walsh Westen. Try it - though it really doesn’t matter.
I’ve order my CTO macbook + ipod - the macbook shipped late friday. I’m probably still waiting for my order to merge i The Netherlands. Checking my order status hourly makes me crazy - It’s a tick I can’t loose - probably quite typical ;) - Well I’m getting my macbook to Denmark, so we’re probably in the same situation.
Until then…
Hi Moccavorm,
yes I know . On the German site where no informations. On the amercian site I could see that it was shipped by Walsh Western B.V. .
Yesterday the updated the site and I could see on the German and American site that they are deliverying from NL to Germany via UPS.
The whole delivery process takes me crazy as well.
UPS was in the morning here, but I wasn`t, so I called them and I can pick it up tonight :-)
My order says excactly the same; ‘Merge In Tnst NL Til’ and dispatched with WW. I only got a T&T number on the iPod nano, which doesn’t even works on WW’s site.
Shipping to Denmark.
you lucky sonnova!
I ordered mine the 14th and it stills seems to be stuck in NL. =/
I guess u guys got urs by now?
I got an apology from apple and a tracking nr saying mid next week…
well well..
Anyone knows whether the delivery date which they give in the Apple Store ordertracking system is accurate or not? Anyone who got his/her order earlier than this date? I live 30kms from Apple hub Tilburg…whished I could just pick it up there… ;)
Update to first post:
In contrast to the supposed arrival date of “Nov 4th - Nov 5th” I can now see “Oct 1st” in the order tracking tool of Apple. I am really anxious to see, whether my Macbook pro + iPod are going to arrive tomorrow, since the Apple hotline already let me down a bit: Apple supposedly does not deliver on weekends. UPS normally does, but according to the hotline they have a deal with Apple to not do so on weekends.
Furthermore, the order tracking tool lists the status of my shipment to be “in line with the scheduled date of Oct 1st” (poorly translated from German). So, obviously the tool does calculate including weekends. I am so very hoping to receive the shipment tomorrow.
Concerning “Merge in …”: I really think it’s due to the fact, that I ordered two products from Apple. A friend of mine only ordered the Macbook Pro and he received it on Tuesday this week!!! (we paid on the same day). That means, that my shipment obviously has a longer way. His shipment came straight from Shanghai, China - according to the UPS order tracking.
I keep my fingers crossed for a happy weekend on my side :-)
Good luck to the rest of you, too.
Just got my tracking number. Package is shipped by “NL DISTRIBUTION CENTER”. Google told me, that this is IEC LOGISTICS with a working order tracking.
So now I have to keep my fingers crossed even more :-)
Bill,
I am on the same boat except for just a few details. My delivery is scheduled for 03 Nov (next hours!!).
Did you succeed in tracking on IEC LOGISTICS?
IEC Logistics turned out to be a dead end after all. Just 5 minutes ago (yes, i am _really_ keeping track), the shipment method changed to UPS and I got a tracking number for UPS, too. I am able to track this shipment on ups’ website. It says, that the packages (MBP + ipod) are going to arrive tomorrow. Yeah!
As for IEC Logistics, I have read a couple of forums and some of them said, that the shipment method eventually always changes to either TNT or UPS.
So, tomorrow’s going to be _the_ happy day :-)
You lucky :)
For me it changed too, but UPS tracking still reports “billing information received” and delivery date (reported by apple) shifted to 06 Nov.
I am from Italy.
Macbook BTO ordered in Nov 4 - 14:46 GMT
prepared for shipment in Nov 6 - around 13:00 GMT
(the info was 3-5 business days to expedite, so they are in schedule).
Merge In Tnst NL Til is still the information available in the order info :)
(with the order comes some software, adapters and an iPod Touch protective case to the iPod ordered and delivered last month, via DHL).
Ah, almost forgot … order to be delivered to Portugal.
[...] am wondering if this shipment method is more trackable than “Merge In Tnst NL Til“; at least it is a lot faster, with comparable orders I used to wait 12 days just for [...]
